When I first contacted SENDIASS I was feeling overwhelmed with the situation at school.
My daughter was not attending school and the Attendance Officer’s approach had made me feel intimidated. Without the support of my SENDIASS Officer in meetings at school I would not even have had the confidence to attend or make my views heard.
I know that I can call my SENDIASS Officer anytime if I need to talk about something that I am not sure about or if I want them to come to a meeting with me.
Without their support I would not have had the courage to stand up for my daughter.

Danielle from SENDIAS has helped me so much with advocating for myself and being another form of support system. She has attended meetings with me and tribunal and I have been able to contact her whenever I need help. I think SENDIAS is a vital service for SEN young people and their families as they provide guidance, support and care for those who need it, which in my opinion is invaluable. She has helped me develop my voice as an SEN young person and even helped me learn to advocate for myself and I will continue to use her support in the future.
